Safety Guidelines

• Inspect the tool for damage before you use it, and again before you return it.
• Keep children, pets and bystanders well clear of the work area.
• Work in good light, with stable footing and no trailing cables.
• Never remove or tape back a guard, trigger lock or safety switch.
• Unplug or remove the battery before changing blades, discs or bits.

• Check the PAT badge on the listing before booking a mains tool.
• Look over the cable and plug for cuts, scorching or loose fittings.
• Use an RCD-protected socket or plug-in RCD, especially outdoors.
• Never use a mains tool in wet conditions or on wet surfaces.
• Fully unwind extension leads before use.

• Keep hands and feet clear of blades, chains and cutting heads.
• Wear eye protection and sturdy footwear — gloves and ear defenders for anything loud.
• Check the ground for stones, wire and hidden cables before you start.
• Only cut what the tool is rated for, and never above shoulder height on a ladder.

• Use only the detergents recommended by the manufacturer.
• Keep water and spray away from motors, plugs and sockets.
• Never mix chemicals — some combinations release dangerous fumes.
• Keep pressure washer lances pointed away from people, pets and glazing.

• Eye protection for any cutting, grinding, sanding or spraying.
• Ear defenders for grinders, chop saws, scarifiers and pressure washers.
• Dust mask or respirator for sanding, masonry work and paint stripping.
• Gloves and boots for garden and heavy tools; no loose clothing or jewellery.
